High-resolution ToF sensor

Teledyne e2v‘s Hydra3D+ time-of-flight CMOS image sensor (ToF) has a resolution of 832 x 600 pixels. The 10-μm three-tap pixels achieve transmission times from 10 ns and offer high sensitivity in the NIR and high demodulation contrast, according to the manufacturer. On-chip multisystem management is said to enable the sensor to work in combination with multiple active systems without interference.

According to the manufacturer, the high resolution with powerful on-chip HDR and flexible on-the-fly configuration offers the best trade-off between different application-level parameters, such as distance, object reflectance and frame rate. The sensor is said to work without motion artifacts even with fast-moving objects in the real-time capture range and at short distances.

The sensor is, according to Teledyne e2v, suitable for medium to long distances and for applications such as pick-and-place, logistics, factory automation and safety, as well as outdoor applications such as automated guided vehicles, surveillance, ITS and construction,
