Mounting-optimized protective camera housings

Autovimation‘s Orca and Salamander series of camera housings have undergone a major revision that improves mounting capabilities, according to the manufacturer. The optimized Quick-Lock/Heat-Guide mounting system now allows camera attachment at only one side of the housing. The triple tolerance compensation of the mounting system also allows precise positioning of cameras whose height deviates from the given specifications.

In addition, Orca housings now feature a 10 mm shallower camera mount that allows cameras up to 70 mm high to be installed with a width of 50 mm. Additionally, says the manufacturer, both Orca and Salamander simplify the precise alignment of cameras parallel to the outer wall of the housing with new internal guiding rails. For this purpose, the camera mounts have been equipped with lugs that engage in the grooves and allow the camera unit to slide into the cylindrical mounting space parallel to the outer wall of the housing. To change the angle of rotation of the camera in the housing, the lugs can be dismantled and the camera aligned as required. Replacing the windows, which are now secured by retaining rings with holes, has also been simplified. For ESD-safe camera mounting, the manufacturer offers double-sided adhesive thermal conductive foils with a dielectric strength of 3 kV.
