12 Jun Ophir: new director for sales team in Europe
MKS Instruments is transferring the management of the Ophir sales team in Europe to Sven Kern (48). The graduate engineer (FH) in laser technology and experienced sales manager takes over the leadership role from Jürgen Reingruber, who retired after almost 20 years. Over the past 15 years, the two laser experts had successfully worked together in sales, says the company.
Kern completed a commercial apprenticeship and then studied laser technology at the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences. In 2002, he initially started in laser sales before moving into laser measurement technology as early as 2008. In addition to the portfolio of Ophir standard products for power and energy measurement as well as beam profile analysis, Kern assisted numerous major customers in the development of individual OEM sensors.
