The Handyscan Black | Elite Limited handheld scanner from Creaform is a portable 3-D measurement solution with a volumetric accuracy of 0.012 mm + 0.020 mm/m. The device applies eleven blue laser cross-hairs for increased scanning speed on difficult surfaces, says the manufacturer. It is calibration tested based on VDI/VDE standard Part 3 according to ISO-17025 accreditation and has integrated photogrammetry.
The scanner can be used on the go in all environmental conditions, emphasizes the manufacturer, and can be used in conjunction with Creaform application software, such as the VXmodel module for scan-to-CAD, the VXinspect module for dimensional inspection, and the VXintegrity-NDT software platform for NDT applications. It is suitable for applications in quality control or product development where tolerances require high accuracy.
