13 Aug Inova Semiconductors licences to Taiwanese LED manufacturer
Munich-based fabless semiconductor manufacturer Inova Semiconductors has licensed its LED technology ISELED and its automotive networking technology ILaS to Lextar, a Taiwanese provider of LED optoelectronics solutions.
According to the manufacturer, ISELED is a technology for the production of intelligent LEDs for automotive applications. ILaS, on the other hand, makes it possible to network ISELED LEDs and connect all interior lighting systems with each other via cables. According to the manufacturer, this leads to complete, hardware-only automotive interior lighting systems that are centrally controlled and can be easily integrated into existing and future E/E architectures.
Lextar, a subsidiary of Ennostar, says it intends to develop intelligent LED products to expand the ISELED product portfolio. The aim is to offer customers a wider choice for new automotive applications such as functional and decorative lighting for interior and exterior applications.
“Licensing is an essential mechanism for Inova to bring our cutting-edge technology to the mass market,” says Robert Isele, CEO of Inova. “The step to now also realise this for ISELED/ILAS is another milestone to open up true multiple supply and new indoor and outdoor applications,” explains Isele.
Lextar says it plans to launch the first products on the market in November 2024.
