07 May Blackbird: growth strategy and new head of sales
Blackbird Robotersysteme, manufacturer of system solutions for remote laser welding, is strengthening its management team and creating a new division for business development. Benjamin Bopp (43) took over as head of sales in April. The long-standing sales manager Thibault Bautze-Scherff will focus on the selection and development of new business fields in the future and, according to the company, will therefore play a key role in the strategic growth of Blackbird Robotersysteme.
New applications and partnerships
By concentrating on future technologies, previously untapped areas of application for laser processing and the expansion of partnerships with research institutions and associations, the company aims to continue to grow in the medium term.
Blackbird sees the laser as a tool as the most relevant manufacturing device of the future, particularly in connection with buzzwords such as artificial intelligence and smart manufacturing.
New head of sales with a background in laser technology
According to the company, Bopp brings a great deal of expertise in providing technical advice to customers from his previous role as an application engineer specializing in laser welding, as well as more than 15 years of experience in international sales. According to the company, one of the new manager’s most important partners is the company’s own subsidiary Blackbird Shanghai, which has been supporting well-known companies in the extremely dynamic Chinese market since the start of the electric mobility revolution. According to the company, there are also global customer projects as part of the sales and service partnership with Abicor Binzel, which Bopp will also be managing with immediate effect.
