Cost-efficient 3D sensors

The new ECS series (Eco Compact Sensor) from AT – Automation Technology comprises 3D sensors with a particularly good price-performance ratio. The series utilises less expensive optics and sensors as well as lasers with a wavelength of 660 nm in class 2M. Designed as a standardised version, the ECS sensors are suitable for applications in the food and logistics industries as well as robot vision, for which high-performance technology is not required, according to the manufacturer. With an output of 2048 points per profile and a high speed of up to 43 kHz, the sensors capture data quickly and precisely according to the principle of laser triangulation. Various field of views are also available, for example 100 or 160 mm (more are planned according to the manufacturer).

According to the manufacturer, another feature of the ECS series is its compact design. The sensors can be easily integrated into almost any application without the need for extensive customisation. The GigE-Vision and GenICam data interface enables the rapid implementation of a software connection in machine vision applications.

To summarise, the ECS series offers the following advantages:
▪ Price-performance ratio: cost-efficient 3D sensor for demanding applications,
▪ Software standards for simple integrations: Support for GigE Vision, GenICam and third-party software,
▪ Cross-industry application options: ideal for the food industry, logistics and robot vision
