New Chief Financial Officer at Carl Zeiss

The supervisory board of Carl Zeiss has appointed Stefan Müller (51) as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from January 1, 2024. Until then, Müller was CFO at Paul Hartmann in Heidenheim. Prior to that, he is said to have worked for Zeiss in various functions for around 17 years, most recently as CFO and member of the of the management board of the Zeiss Industrial Quality & Research segment. Stefan Müller succeeds Dr. Christian Müller, who, according to Zeiss, left the company at his own request in autumn 2023 after more than 20 years.
“We are delighted to have found a very suitable successor in Stefan Müller,” says Dr. Michael Bolle, chairman of the supervisory board at Carl Zeiss. Müller already knows Zeiss from different perspectives and tasks in the Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology, Medical Technology and Industrial Quality & Research divisions, Bolle continued. He has also recently been able to successfully demonstrate his expertise and leadership skills outside of Zeiss. According to information from Zeiss, as a member of the Executive Board, Müller will be responsible for finance and controlling, tax and legal, as well as business services & infrastructure, auditing & risk management, export control and health, safety and security.
