Event based vision sensing development kit

The new FSM-IMX636 development kit from Framos is a platform designed to enable developers to gain experience with event based vision sensing (EVS) technologies and test the potential benefits of using Nvidia Jetson with the Framos sensor module ecosystem.
Unlike most conventional sensors, which transmit all visible data in successive frames, the EVS sensor records only the pixel data for which a change in brightness has occurred. According to the manufacturer, the relevant information of pixel coordinates, time stamp and polarity in each event packet leads to efficient bandwidth utilization. By reducing the transmission of superfluous data, this technology is intended to lower energy consumption, optimize process performance and reduce the costs of the image processing solution.
The development kit consists of an IMX636 event based vision sensor board with a lens and necessary adapters, accessories and drivers. The kit is intended to provide a comprehensible and easy-to-integrate option for testing EVS in embedded application systems on the Nvidia Jetson AGX Xavier and Jetson AGX Orin platforms. The associated Metavision Intelligence Suite from Prophesee provides machine learning-supported event data processing, analysis and visualization modules.
According to the provider, the development kit is suitable for the development of EVS-based applications in areas such as industrial automation, medicine, automotive and mobility as well as IoT and monitoring.
