With its new partner Modulight, Laser 2000 aims at strengthening its corporate direction as a solutions provider to meet the growing demand for customized applications and subsystems. Modulight, based in Tampere, Finland, develops and manufactures lasers and laser systems for biomedical, quantum and other demanding applications. The product portfolio also includes supporting laser solutions such as system integration services and laser design and manufacturing. The manufacturer also has its own semiconductor laser chip production facilities in Tampere.
For Modulight, the partnership with Laser 2000 means that the company can further expand its sales channels in Europe. Modulight states that it expects the collaboration to open up significant sales opportunities for its laser technology, as local market presence will enable better positioning in biophotonics and life sciences, quantum physics, sensing and other markets.
In addition to full in-house development and production, Modulight also has complete design and manufacturing facilities for assembly and testing of laser systems and subsystems, as well as a bioscience laboratory to support customer application testing. Thus, as a solution provider, Laser 2000 sees the Finnish company as an ideal partner for application-oriented projects.
