14 Jun LZH Optical Components Department under new management
On 1 June 2021, Dr Andreas Wienke took over as head of the Optical Components Department at Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V.. (LZH) from Dr Lars Jensen, who has moved to industry. Wienke started at the LZH in 2011 as a research assistant in the Laser Development department. In 2016, he moved to industry as a development engineer, returned to LZH in 2017 and took over first as head of the Optical Systems group in 2018 and then as head of the Ultrafast Photonics group in 2020. Wienke studied physics at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster and received his doctorate in physics from Leibniz Universität Hannover in 2016.
Andreas Wienke is looking forward to the new challenge and would like to contribute his many years of experience in all areas of laser development from cw fibre lasers to ultra-short pulse fibre and solid-state lasers to additively manufactured optical systems to the further development of the Optical Components Department, which will be realigned in 2021.
