Laser 2000 collaborates with Qiova

Laser 2000 enters into a cooperation in the field of laser marking. Partner is the French company Qiova which develops technologies for very fast marking of variable identification codes on components or goods. The company’s multibeam process allows complex markings, such as QR codes, with just a single laser pulse. This is said to speed marking throughput by a factor of 5 to 10, depending on the application.

One entire marking per laser pulse

Qiova designs and manufactures the beam shaping technologies to optimize the speed and accuracy of the marking process. Their process splits a laser beam into more than 100 controllable individual beams, enabling marking with two-dimensional shapes of a variety of products and surfaces with a single pulse. According to the company, on the one hand the advantage of this technology lies in the ability to laser very small markings in high quality. Even with a motif of less than 100 µm, perfect legibility is said to be maintained. On the other hand, marking is possible at high speed, according to the manufacturer. Because the 2-D barcode marking rate corresponds to the laser repetition rate and thus typically reaches several 10 or even 100 markings per second.

Laser 2000 represents the Qiova development throughout the D-A-CH region and, if required, integrates the technology into an industry-ready solution consisting of the Qiova laser head, a nanosecond laser and an optical beam delivery system provided by Laser 2000.
