ELCOMAT direct N – Precision and flexibility for demanding measuring tasks

Sponsored Post – The ELCOMAT® direct N product series offers electronic autocollimators that provide an exceptional combination of versatility, precision, and integration capability. With a wide selection of lens focal lengths ranging from 90 mm to 600 mm, these devices are ideal for a variety of measurement applications. They consistently strike a balance between a broad measuring range and minimal measurement uncertainty, making them ideal for complex, high-precision applications.

These devices can measure up to ten different angles, including wedge angles and surface parallelism. Various measurement modes allow the autocollimators to adapt flexibly to specific tasks, making them ideal for use in measurement technology, development, and quality assurance.

They integrate seamlessly into existing workflows: measurements can be performed directly via ELCOdirect software or via a serial or UDP interface. A software development kit (SDK) is available for customized integration into (semi-)automated measurement processes.

One example of an application is measuring binocular systems. In this case, the autocollimator is positioned parallel to the exit aperture of the system to detect both light beams simultaneously. A plane-parallel mirror reflects the light guided through the binoculars back into the device. The software calculates the parallelism of the beam paths and immediately displays any deviations. Changes in parallelism, such as those resulting from adjusting the binocular system’s interpupillary distance, are also directly visible and measurable. Defining a tolerance field highlights and color-codes deviations, making evaluation and readjustment much easier.

With their high precision, flexible application options, and easy integration, ELCOMAT® direct N Autocollimators are the ideal solution for demanding optical measurement tasks.
