Marisa Edmund appointed to Optica’s Board of Directors

Marisa Edmund, Chair of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Edmund Optics, has been appointed Director at Large for the Optica Board for the term 2026 to 2028. Optica, formerly known as ‚The Optical Society of America’ (OSA), is a global association dedicated to advancing optics and photonics. The Optica Board of Directors includes members from academia, industry, and research. They determine the strategic direction of the association.

“Optica is one of the cornerstones of the optical industry,” said Marisa Edmund of her appointment. “I am very honored to work with such inspiring individuals and help shape the future of optics and photonics to inspire and empower the next generation of innovators.”

In addition to her new role at Optica, Edmund is a senior member of SPIE. She has served on several industry committees and boards, including the SPIE Board of Directors, the SPIE Exhibitor Committee, and the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (now Marketing Edge). Edmund holds a BSBA from Georgetown University and an MBA from Stockton College.
